The pool and academics portion of the Open Water Scuba Course is the first step towards becoming a certified diver. In the classroom, students learn diving theory and safety practices. In the pool, they practice essential skills such as mask clearing, buoyancy control, and underwater communication. This portion of the course teaches students how to use scuba equipment and gain confidence underwater. Students must pass a written exam and demonstrate mastery of skills to progress to the open water dives.
