COVID-19 Cleaning Protocols
AWOL Adventure Sports takes the health and safety of our staff and customers very seriously. We have implemented cleaning and sanitizing protocols for every activity offered at our business. The full list of cleaning procedures is listed below.
SCUBA DIVING - All wetsuits, BCDs, regulators and soft gear are washed and sanitized after every use. Customers are asked to place returned rental equipment directly into the cleaning buckets (located on the west side of the dive shop.) After the cleaning and drying, regulators are sprayed with a disinfectant. Staff is required to wear a mask during the classroom sessions. All Instructors and Divemasters will have their masks on and regulators in any time they are within 6’ of students (while in the pool and open water).
Zip Line Tours - All trolleys, harnesses and helmets are cleaned and sanitized after each use. Ethyl alcohol is used to clean all the metal and isopropyl alcohol on all webbing. Guides are required to wear face masks during the tour, while hooking-up and detaching, and anytime they are within 6’ of a customer. Tour capacity has been limited to 12 participants per tour.
Kayak & Paddle Board Rentals - All kayaks, paddle boards, life jackets, paddles, whistles and tags are washed and sanitized after every use. Employees at the dock are not forced to wear masks as their job requires them to continuously lift heavy kayaks while in 100+ degree heat. Customers are welcome to carry their own kayaks to the dock if they are uncomfortable with our staff not wearing masks.
Boat Tours - All boat seats and cushions are cleaned and sanitized after every tour. Boat captains are required to wear masks if in close contact with customers. Boat capacity has been limited to 8 participants per tour.
